When I was in elementary school, we had one of these things on our playground (without the safety net and made of burning hot steel). Some kid in my class fell and nearly killed himself, so they took it out of all the schools in my district. It was my favorite thing to play on and I was greatly saddened when they removed it and left a giant hole in its place. They later filled the hole with sand. Yippee.
